Adam Pearce fined and suspended Drew McIntyre for elbowing him in the face and being unapologetic about it afterwards. It led to Adam Pearce not lifting McIntyre’s suspension on RAW this week as well and McIntyre has now lashed out at WWE for the same.
On the July 15 edition of Monday Night RAW, Adam Pearce invited Drew McIntyre back to the show. The Scottish Warrior appeared all smiles as he was welcomed to the ring by Pearce. McIntyre addressed the audience, expressing his eagerness to face CM Punk, a match he believed the WWE Universe was also excited about.
Pearce, acknowledging the fans’ approval, agreed to make the match official. However, before proceeding, he invited the two referees McIntyre had attacked at Money in the Bank and asked McIntyre to apologize. McIntyre refused, accusing the referees of contributing to his missed opportunities and taking shots at CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Adam Pearce.
In response to McIntyre’s behavior, Pearce decided not to lift his suspension. The situation escalated as McIntyre attacked the referees and nearly assaulted Pearce before Seth Rollins intervened to save the day.
The official WWE Twitter account posted a tweet promoting ticket sales for next week’s Monday Night RAW. Interestingly, they used an image of CM Punk striking Drew McIntyre with a steel chair to point out Punk’s upcoming appearance. This move got a strong reaction from McIntyre, who responded with a tweet of his own and lashing out at WWE for using such a photo after what transpired with him on RAW.
“Are you p***** seriously gonna use this picture after what just happened?”
We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book Drew McIntyre’s storyline in the coming weeks, as we slowly approach the SummerSlam Premium Live Event on August 3rd, as it is clear he will not be suspended forever.
