Damian Priest is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, a fact that surprised many who were certain that Drew McIntyre would win the title at Clash at the Castle. Despite all the obstacles in his way, Priest is still holding onto that belt, and now he has hit a new benchmark in his career.

Damian Priest is now celebrating the 100th day of his reign as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This puts Priest above many who were unable to hold the title for that long. His next defense will see him put that title on the line against GUNTHER at SummerSlam on August 3.

After holding onto the Money in the Bank briefcase for nearly a year, at Night 2 of WrestleMania XL, Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre, winning the World Heavyweight Championship after an attack by CM Punk. This made him the second person to cash in at WrestleMania and the first world champion of Puerto Rican descent since Pedro Morales in 1971.

On May 4 at Backlash France, Priest defended his title against Jey Uso despite interference from Bálor and McDonagh. At King and Queen of the Ring, Triple H announced that Priest would defend his title against Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, where Priest retained his title on June 15 after interference from CM Punk.

On the June 17 episode of WWE RAW, Priest challenged Seth Rollins to title match at Money in the Bank with a stipulation: if Rollins lost, he couldn’t challenge Priest again; if Priest lost, he would leave The Judgment Day. On July 6 at Money in the Bank, Priest defended his title against Rollins and McIntyre, who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase during the match but was attacked by Punk. Priest pinned McIntyre to retain his title in the end.

We will have to see whether Damian Priest can escape Cleveland as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He has quite an opponent to face in GUNTHER, who got that match after he won the 2024 King of the Ring tournament.
