AEW star Buddy Matthews, a long-time member of the House of Black, took some time off after the June 15th edition of AEW Collision and now he has teased his return to the company.
In a trios match on AEW Collision, Buddy Matthews joined forces with Malakai Black and Brody King to take on Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, and Juice Robinson. During the match, Matthews seemed to injure his knee while executing a Meteora on Robinson. He quickly clutched his knee and tagged in Brody King.
After the commercial break, officials escorted Matthews backstage, leaving Black and King to continue the match. Despite his absence, they secured the win with some help from PAC. However, fans were left concerned about the severity of Matthews’ injury.
We then confirmed it was all part of a storyline. Buddy Matthews took to his Instagram and uploaded a video of himself being taken to the back during Collision last month, as he teased returning to AEW.
“I hear, I see, I recover.”
During his hiatus, Buddy Matthews tied the knot with Rhea Ripley. It is to be noted that the exact duration of his absence has not been disclosed, so we’ll have to wait and see when he will return to AEW television.
