Adam Copeland wasted no time in becoming one of the top stars in AEW as he put on several solid matches and he held the TNT Championship with a lot of pride. However, is out of action due to injury but Tony Khan claimed that Copeland’s AEW run is the best of his career.
Adam Copeland ended up taking too much of a risk at Double or Nothing after performing a dive from the top of a steel cage. Adam Copeland then revealed that he suffered fractured tibia following the dangerous spot against Malakai Black.
While speaking in an interview with the SportsGrid podcast, AEW President Tony Khan discussed Adam Copeland’s tenure with AEW, mentioning his impactful role as the TNT Champion and the face of another network. Khan praised Copeland, claiming that his current run in AEW could be considered the best in his illustrious career, despite having had numerous memorable matches and runs before.
Khan made it clear he was proud of Copeland’s contributions to AEW and acknowledged the unfortunate injury that led to him vacating the TNT title. He also mentioned the influx of talented free agents who have joined AEW over the past year, contributing to the promotion’s evolving landscape.
“[Copeland] was the TNT Champion, the face of our other network. He arguably has been on the greatest run of his entire legendary career, which is really saying something because he’s had so many great matches, so many great runs.”
“What he’s been doing in AEW is some of the best stuff. I’m really proud of that. He was on this amazing run. Unfortunately, he got injured, and he had to vacate the TNT title, but we’ve had so many great free agents come in just in the past year.”
Adam Copeland has confirmed that he underwent surgery for his injury. As he embarks on his road to recovery, only time will tell when he’ll be able to make his return to AEW. Until then, fans are definitely going to miss him quite a lot.
