Steve Austin’s last match was on April 2, 2022, at WWE WrestleMania 38, where he defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred match. This was a real treat for fans, but he hasn’t made many appearances since then. The Texas Rattlesnake is still doing his thing, but that doesn’t mean he’s kept up with The Nature Boy.
Ric Flair appeared on today’s Busted Open Radio to talk about generational talent. There’s been a big changeover in WWE as the company has moved into a new era with new talent rising to the top of the card.
During the show, Flair remarked that he keeps up with some of the veterans from the ’90s and 2000s, but he hasn’t heard much from Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is always too busy at his ranch in Texas.
“I was talking to Ashley (Charlotte) yesterday and I said it’s just a whole new time in life. It’s funny but – I don’t mean funny by we don’t talk to him but, like Steve has just disappeared. I would talk to him once a week, twice a week, once a month. I haven’t talked to Steve in a year.”
“I talk to Taker occasionally and I see Foley at signings and HBK, but if you look at all the guys that were around, the names – the generational guys you would call talent or the great workers or biggest stars or Mr. WrestleMania or whatever, they’re all gone. It’s a whole new era, guys.”
We will have to see when Steve Austin shows up once again. Hopefully, this little note from Ric Flair will encourage him to reach out. Flair may like to hear from Austin every now and then.
Ringside News will have more on this story, and many more from the pro wrestling world. You never know what will happen next, but we will be here with the headlines you need.
