Sheamus had a strong association with rising star Pete Dunne as part of ‘The Brawling Brutes’ faction that lasted until last year before The Celtic Warrior decided to go down his own path.
Last week on RAW, Sheamus came to the aid of Pete Dunne at the end of his match and offered a handshake to Dunne, who in turn left, having not forgotten that Sheamus abandoned the faction as it was coming up.
During the July 15 edition of Monday Night RAW, Sheamus was scheduled to battle Big Bronson Reed in a hard-hitting bout. The action went back and forth, inside and outside the ring and ended with Sheamus scoring the win over Reed.
However, Bronson Reed delivered a post-match assault that led to Pete Dunne coming to his aid, possibly to return the favour from last week. Sheamus once again extended a handshake, but Dunne refused it again. The very next moment, as he was about to leave, he came back into the ring and struck down Sheamus in a shocking way, leaving Sheamus and the fans confused.
