The tensions between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk, prevalent for months, reached new heights when Punk once again cost McIntyre a chance to become World Heavyweight Champion at the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank PLE.

Following the events, McIntyre’s frustrations and knocking down RAW General Manager Adam Pearce led him to be suspended and fined. But on CM Punk’s insistence, Pearce invited McIntyre back on the July 15 edition of Monday Night RAW.

The Scottish Warrior was all smiles as he appeared on tonight’s show after he was welcomed to the ring by Adam Pearce. He openly stated that much like the WWE Universe and himself, everyone wanted to see McIntyre vs CM Punk, and McIntyre also agreed to the same, claiming that he wanted it bad more than anything.

With the WWE Universe also approving the idea for the highly anticipated bout, Adam Pearce agreed to make it official, not before inviting the two referees McIntyre attacked at Money in the Bank and asked him to apologize, which he bluntly refused, blaming the referees for being a part of screwing him out of opportunities and fired shots at everyone including CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Adam Pearce.

Witnessing McIntyre’s behaviour, Pearce refused to lift his suspension, attacked the two referees and almost laid his hands on Adam Pearce before Seth Rollins came down to the ring to make the save.
