Chris Jericho is truly a veteran in the pro wrestling industry, whose career has spanned more than 30 years. Even then, there are people who believe Jericho is only burying talent in AEW and never putting them over. Interestingly enough, Jake Hager believes Sting is the one who never put anyone over.

Le Champion has faced off against numerous foes over the course of his run in AEW. Jericho has never failed to put over talent such as MJF, Orange Cassidy, Action Andretti and more. He has lost to all of the above talent and more, as Jericho wants to build up talent for the future.

Jake Hager has frequently praised Chris Jericho for bringing him into AEW and making him a part of The Inner Circle when the promotion debuted on television in October 2019. Hager remained aligned with Jericho throughout his entire AEW tenure, which ended in May.

While speaking on the No Shave Man Cave, Hager shared his thoughts on Jericho’s impact in AEW. He pointed out Jericho’s willingness to elevate new talent sets him apart from other veteran wrestlers. Hager noted that while stars like Triple H, The Undertaker, and Sting haven’t focused on putting over younger talent, Jericho has made it a priority.

Hager emphasized Jericho’s efforts to build the company by helping to establish new stars, citing the example of Orange Cassidy, whose popularity surged after working with Jericho. He expressed frustration that Jericho’s contributions often go unrecognized, praising his unselfishness and commitment to AEW’s growth.

“Here’s the thing I like about it. Did you see Triple H putting over any new guys? Did you see Undertaker putting over any new guys? Did you see any top guys, who have been in the business for as long as Jericho, putting over anybody? Did Sting put over anybody? No. [Jericho’s] trying to build. He understands it. It drives me crazy that nobody talks about this. He’s putting over these guys. He’s putting the stamp on them. Did he make Orange Cassidy hot? I mean, come on. I’m biased, but I think the fact that he is so unselfish with building this company. Forget about it.”

Sting successfully retired at AEW Revolution and fans couldn’t be happier about the way he was booked throughout his run in AEW. However, Jake Hager will always feel Sting never put anyone over and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
