Stephanie Vaquer became a major topic of discussion this week after it was confirmed she would be joining WWE. All of this happened very abruptly and now she’s a WWE Superstar. Interestingly enough, she will get to keep her name in WWE as well.
CMLL recently announced that Stephanie Vaquer has officially parted ways with the promotion and NJPW. Vaquer chose to relinquish both the CMLL Women’s Tag Team Championship and the CMLL Women’s Championship, citing personal reasons that also prevented her from participating in FantasticaMania. This led to much speculation about her next move, with many fans eagerly anticipating her joining WWE.
In the end, that’s exactly what happened. Stephanie Vaquer officially signed deal with WWE over the past week. Even Shawn Michaels reacted positively to Vaquer’s signing. It has been reported that her debut could take place during this week’s WWE live events in Mexico.
When WWE signs a well-known talent from another promotion, there’s always the question of whether they will keep their ring name or adopt a new one. WWE often prefers to create new names to own the intellectual property and retain the rights if the wrestler leaves the promotion.
Stephanie Vaquer, whose real name is Ana Stephanie Vaquer González, is set to make her WWE debut this Saturday at show in Mexico. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer daily update, WWE currently has no plans to change her name but that could change in the future.
”This could change but as of today, WWE is not planning on changing her name.”
We will have to wait and see how Stephanie Vaquer will fare in WWE after she debuts this week. After all, there is a lot of hype and excitement for what she can accomplish in the company for good reason.
