SummerSlam is to take place at the iconic Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday, August 3rd and fans are wondering if Roman Reigns will finally return at the event after months of anticipation. In that regard, we now have an update on his status for the show.
Roman Reigns has not been seen on WWE television since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. During his absence, The Bloodline has seen a lot of changes as well, as Solo Sikoa has been working to remove Reigns from the equation entirely.
Solo Sikoa has assumed leadership of The Bloodline, with Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa also aligning themselves with the faction. Jacob Fatu would join the fold as well and they would all kick out Paul Heyman by brutally attacking him on Friday Night SmackDown.
While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Roman Reigns’ status for SummerSlam. Sapp noted that while it is assumed Reigns would return at SummerSlam, it is not confirmed.
“It’s assumed but not confirmed.”
Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam next month, so fans believe Roman Reigns would return at the end of the match and help Rhodes. We’ll have to see if The Tribal Chief of WWE will truly make his return at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
