Mercedes Mone’s arrival in AEW has obviously changed the promotion’s landscape when it comes to the women’s division. Mone recently claimed that she has creative control in AEW and now the legitimacy of her claim has been revealed.
It was previously reported that Mercedes Mone is the highest paid women’s wrestler in the business right now. Many feel Mone may not be worth this at all, with some even feeling she was overpaid.
To add to that, Mercedes Mone even claimed that she has creative control in AEW, but further added that she still works together with Tony Khan. However, her statement did riase quite a few eyebrows.
While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Mercedes Mone having creative control in AEW. He admitted he would be shocked if that were the case and pointed out how she does a lot of her interviews in character.
“I would be shocked if that was true. She does a lot of her interviews in character.“
Mercedes Mone was also accused of trying to manipulate Tony Khan. Regardless, as the double champion, Mercedes Mone will remain busy on AEW television and she is now more focused on her current feud with Britt Baker. Therefore, we’ll have to see what AEW will have planned for Mone in the coming weeks.
