AEW has undeniably experienced a remarkable journey since its establishment in 2019, marked by significant growth and success. Sadly, it has encountered a gradual decline since All Out 2021, for the most part. Similar to any organization, AEW faces its share of challenges, and one of these is the struggle to sell tickets for their live shows.
There have been quite a few instances over the past year of many AEW shows struggling to sell tickets or even manage to fill out small venues, leading to a lot of unflattering photos of attendances.
While speaking on Fightful Select’s Q&A podcast, Sean Ross Sapp was asked if talent or people in the company have concerns about live attendance or and low tickets, as it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
Sean Ross Sapp noted that there are no concerns in that regard. While many have thoughts on how to fix the issues, no one thinks the company is going out of business or anything along those lines.
“I wouldn’t say concerns. Many have their thoughts on how to fix it or make them go up but nobody thinks the company is going out of business or anything like that.”
However, there is apprehension that AEW’s current attendance figures could mirror WCW’s decline in 2000, prompting worries about the company’s future trajectory. Time will reveal whether AEW can effectively address these challenges, especially considering the recent improvements in their product.
