It’s Friday night, and you know what that means! The post-WWE Money in the Bank episode of SmackDown will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the July 12, 2024 episode.

The show opens up with a recap of this past Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank PLE. We then see the arrivals of Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and WWE Tag Team Champions #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) with Ciampa’s daughter.
Corey Graves and Wade Barrett then welcomes us to the show as ring announcer Alicia Taylor stands in the middle of the ring and introduces 2024 Women’s Money in the Bank winner Tiffany Stratton. Stratton then makes her way down to the ring and Graves notes that she has a full year to cash in her MITB contract.
Tiffany Stratton starts off by saying it officially became Tiffy Time on Saturday when she became the youngest Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder in WWE history. Stratton then says while Trish Stratus hosted Money in the Bank in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, it’s her time tonight. Stratton then puts Liv Morgan, Bayley and Roxanne Perez on notice and says their respective reigns as WWE Women’s World Champion, WWE Women’s Champion and NXT Women’s Champion are on Tiffy Time. Bayley’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Bayley congratulates Stratton on winning the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match and Stratton asks why Bayley is in the ring. Bayley says she was looking to offer Stratton a piece of advice as a former Money in the Bank briefcase winner in 2019 and Stratton says that was ages ago. Bayley then warns Stratton against cashing-in then contract against her and says should she choose to, she’ll be the first woman to have a failed Money in the Bank cash-in.
Nia Jax’s music then hits and she makes her way out. Jax asks Bayley why she’s making empty threats and tells Bayley she’ll dethrone her as WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. Bayley then asks Jax who she thinks she’s talking to and tells Jax that this version of her is the Grand Slam Women’s Champion, a Royal Rumble winner and the WWE Women’s Champion. Bayley then tells Jax that she’ll embarrass her at SummerSlam, but questions what Stratton will do with her Money in the Bank contract should Jax win the title from her. Jax then tells Bayley she has no problem with her and calls Stratton her personal Barbie doll, then tells Bayley she’ll victimize her at SummerSlam. Bayley then looks to nail Jax, but Stratton prevents her and both women beat down Bayley. Michin then slides into the ring and hits Jax with a kendo stick. Stratton then slides out of the ring before Michin can blast her. Michin then checks on Bayley to end the segment.
We then get an ad for WWE Monday Night RAW.
We then get video footage of the big bump that Chelsea Green took at the end of the Women’s MITB Match.
We then head to the back, where Byron Saxton is interviewing Chelsea Green. Green says she didn’t have time for his questions after the brutal MITB Match she went through. Green then says the world is calling her the Mother of Mayhem and the Princess of Pain. Green then says she was waiting for SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Saxton then tries to say something about Aldis, but Niven cuts him off and sends him away.
The first match of the night is underway, which is a Singles Match.
The match starts off with Michin going straight after Jax. Michin delivers some strikes on Jax, but Jax shoves Michin. Michin then locks in a Sleeper on Jax, but Jax sends Michin crashing into the corner to break the hold. Michin then locks in another submission on Jax, but Jax sends her crashing into the mat to escape. Michin then hits Jax with a variation of Sole Food and looks to hit a Tornado DDT, but Jax blocks it and sends Michin across the ring. Jax then hits a Hip Attack on Michin, then wears her down with a submission. Jax then sends Michin across the ring and hits her with a splash in the corner, then sends her across the ring once again. Michin then sends Jax out of the ring and looks to fly off the apron. Jax then gets Michin into an Electric Chair position and sends her crashing into the ring apron face first.
Michin then hits a dropkick on Jax. Michin then hits a hurricanrana on Jax off the middle rope, then follows it up with a second dropkick that sends Jax crashing into the corner. Michin then hits Jax with a cannonball and goes for a pin, but Jax kicks out. Michin then climbs to the top rope, but Jax hits a forearm on Michin and pulls her down. Tiffany Stratton then places Michin’s kendo stick on the ring apron for Jax to use and distracts the referee. Bayley then pulls Stratton off the ring apron as Jax looks to use the kendo stick on Michin in the ring. Michin then sees Jax grab it and dropkicks her into the corner before she hits her with a Tornado DDT. Michin then goes for a pin, but Jax kicks out. Michin then runs the ropes, but Jax intercepts her and hits her with a Samoan Drop. Jax then follows it up with the An-Nia-Lator for the win.

After the match, Jax looks to hit a second An-Nia-Lator on Michin. Bayley then blasts Jax from behind, but Stratton nails Bayley with her Money in the Bank briefcase. Both women then continue to beat Bayley and Stratton hits a spinebuster on Bayley. Jax then follows it up with a leg drop. Stratton then looks to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Bayley, but Jax stops her and Stratton opts not to.
We then get a video package of The Bloodline as Solo Sikoa was talking about building a more powerful and aggressive family. Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa was sitting beside Sikoa while Jacob Fatu was standing behind him. Sikoa says everyone will acknowledge him by the end of the night.
We then get video footage of Andrade’s performance in the Men’s MITB Match.
We then see an interview recorded earlier in the day with Byron Saxton and Andrade. Both men sat in an empty arena. Before Andrade could say much, Carmelo Hayes shows up and asks why Saxton wasn’t talking to him. Andrade then says the people labeled him the MVP of the match. Hayes then boasts about being a first-round draft pick. When Saxton asks what’s next, Andrade points at Hayes and says him.
We then get highlights from last week of Escobar taunting Corbin about a failed cash-in followed by Angel and Berto attacking Corbin.
We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match.
The match starts off with Crews flying over the top rope to land on Angel and Berto on the outside. Crews then sends Berto back in the ring. Corbin then continues beating Berto down and tags in Apollo Crews. Berto then delivers some stomps on Crews in the corner, but Crews nails him with a back elbow and tags in Corbin. Crew then hits a back body drop on Berto. Both teams then begin brawling with each other and Crews sends Angel and Berto out of the ring. Crews then helps Corbin fly over the top rope to land on them. Berto then tags in and double teams Corbin with Angel. Corbin then hits Berto with a kick off the ropes, but Berto responds with a kick of his own. Corbin then hits a Death Valley Driver on Berto, then tags in Crews. Angel then tags in and Crews hits a boot on the side of his head. Crews then follows it up with a clothesline and a series of German suplexes, then nails Berto on the apron. As Corbin blasts Escobar on the outside, Crews hits a Military Press on Angel in the ring. Elektra Lopez then jumps up on the apron to distract the referee, opening the door for Escobar to hit a running knee on Crews and Angel follows it up with the Wing Clipper for the win.

We then head to the back to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis’ office, where Chelsea Green and Piper Niven have an interaction with Pretty Deadly. Green tells Elton Prince and Kit Wilson to get in line. LA Knight then emerges from Aldis’ office with a piece of paper in hand. Green then asks about Aldis. Knight tells Green that Aldis said he will call Green because he had a couple more things to do and will be a bit longer and Green was not happy.
Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes was then shown seating in a dressing room with his championship at his side. “The Viper” Randy Orton then takes a seat next to Cody and says he heard what Solo Sikoa said and he assumed that Cody will find himself inside the ring with a bunch of Samoans. Orton then says he knows Cody well enough to know that he wouldn’t want him out there, but he says he will be there if things went sideways. Orton then says he will always and forever have Cody’s back. Orton then says Kevin Owens feels the same way, but he was not there. Orton then says that’s on him because Owens loves to fight, but he told him to stay home with his family. Orton then says once everything with The Bloodline is finally over, Cody will have a lot of men coming after the WWE Championship. Orton then says he will have Cody’s back. Cody then thanks Orton and Orton says always before leaving the room.
“The Mega Star” LA Knight then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.
LA Knight starts off by telling the fans let me talk to you, then says Money in the Bank has come and gone. Knight then says the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match didn’t go as he planned, but whether or not he holds the briefcase, it doesn’t matter because he’s the walking embodiment of Money in the Bank. Knight then sends us to a video of him pinning WWE United States Champion Logan Paul in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank Qualifier and says everyone saw him move onto Money in the Bank. Knight then holds up the piece of paper he was holding when he emerged from Nick Aldis’ office and reveals that it’s a contract granting him a shot at the United States Championship at SummerSlam. Knight then signs it and says all that’s missing from the contract now that he and Aldis have both signed it is a signature from Paul. Knight then says while he would love to call Paul to the ring to sign the contract, he knows Paul isn’t there. Knight then promises to get Paul to sign the contract one way or another.
Corey Graves and Wade Barrett then speaks about the U.S. Title Match. Graves then says there is another new face who was making serious noise.
We then get a video vignette on Blair Davenport. Davenport says while some wrestlers cry about being overlooked, she’s already taken their spot. Davenport then makes her way down to the ring for her match against Naomi.
We then get a video package of 16-time World Champion John Cena announcing his retirement from the WWE for 2025.
Naomi then makes her way down to the ring for the next match while highlights of her performance in the Women’s MITB Ladder Match was shown.
The match starts off with Davenport hitting a clothesline on Naomi, but Naomi responds with a dropkick to Davenport’s midsection. Naomi then hits a second one on Davenport in the corner and follows it up with a split legged leg drop. Naomi then goes for a pin, but Davenport kicks out. Naomi then hits a kick on Davenport’s chest, but Davenport climbs to the top and flies as she begins to target Naomi’s arm. Davenport then sends Naomi crashing into the ring post shoulder first. Naomi then hits a facebuster on Davenport and looks to fly. Davenport then hits a kick on Naomi’s spine before both women take turns in rolling each other up. Naomi then nails Davenport with a jumping knee, then sends Davenport crashing into the mat for the win.

We then get highlights from last week’s main event, where Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) then make their way down to the ring for tonight’s main event, which is a WWE Tag Team Championship rematch.
We then get the lineup of next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
We then head to the back, where “The EST Of WWE” Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill congratulate Naomi on her win. Naomi then runs into Davenport and Davenport tells her that the best person won. Davenport then offers her hand out to Naomi and Naomi shakes it. Davenport then walks off, but blindsides Naomi and blasts her from behind.
WWE Tag Team Champions #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) then make their way down to the ring for the main event.
The match starts off with Tommaso Ciampa and Grayson Waller. Waller slides out of the ring. Ciampa then chases him back inside, where Theory and Gargano join them. #DIY then hit a double dropkick on A-Town Down Under and send them crashing to the outside. Gargano then looks to fly, but Theory intercepts him and sends him crashing into the barricade. Waller then hits a Tornado DDT on Ciampa that sends him over the top rope and out of the ring. Waller then charges at Ciampa in the corner. Ciampa then moves out of the way and Theory hits a stomp on Ciampa’s spine. Theory then climbs to the top and flies, but Ciampa hits him with a jumping knee. Gargano then tags in and nails Theory with a dropkick, then follows it up with a double DDT on Theory and Waller. Gargano then hits a spear on Theory through the middle rope and tags in Ciampa. Waller then sends Gargano crashing out of the ring and Theory hits a back elbow on Ciampa. Ciampa then hits a boot on Theory, but Waller hits him with a rolling flatliner. Waller then tags in Theory and A-Town Down Under sets up to hit Meet Me In The Middle on Ciampa. Ciampa then kicks out and Waller looks to hits a jumping knee on him. Ciampa then moves out of the way and Waller accidentally hits Theory. Gargano then tags in and #DIY hits the Shatter Machine on Waller. They then follow it up with a Meet Me In The Middle for the win.

After the match, Theory gets in Waller’s face for nailing him. Jacob Fatu then appears out of nowhere and blasts Theory, then slides in the ring. Gargano then looks to fly to land on him, but Fatu intercepts him and hits him with a Samoan Drop. Ciampa then hits a DDT on Fatu, but Fatu gets right back up and hits him with a superkick. Fatu then hits a Hip Attack on Gargano and a Samoan Drop on Ciampa. Fatu then flies off the ropes to take out Gargano and hits a moonsault off the ropes on Ciampa. Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa then make their way down to the ring join Fatu in the ring.
Solo Sikoa starts off by demanding that Worcester acknowledges him, then says everyone who has refused to acknowledge him including Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman are gone. Sikoa then makes a promise that Roman Reigns will acknowledge him should he return, then says it’s Cody Rhodes’ turn to acknowledge him. Sikoa then calls Rhodes down to the ring and Rhodes makes his way out. Rhodes says he heard everything Sikoa just said, then tells him that they want the same thing: a match at SummerSlam for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rhodes then tells Sikoa he still needs to talk to Nick Aldis, but he’s in. Rhodes then tells Sikoa that if it were up to him, he wouldn’t wait until SummerSlam. Rhodes then says he’d do it here and now. The Bloodline then surrounds RhodeS and Rhodes attacks Sikoa. Fatu then hits a superkick on Rhodes and follows it up with a clothesline, but Randy Orton’s music hits and he takes down Loa and Tonga in the ramp. Orton then sends Fatu out of the ring to join them, then follows it up with a hanging DDT on Sikoa and helps Rhodes up.
Fatu then nails Orton and Tonga and Loa join him. Orton then delivers some right hands on Loa and Tonga, but Fatu hits him with a tope suicida to take him down. Sikoa and Fatu then beat Rhodes down in the ring and tangle him up in the top rope. Fatu then hits some shoulders on Rhodes’ midsection, then follows it up with a headbutt on him as Loa and Tonga hit Orton with the ring steps. Fatu then hits a superkick on Orton, then follows it up with a second one as Tonga and Loa hold him in place. Sikoa then holds Rhodes’ head up, forcing him to helplessly watch the rest of The Bloodline hit a Triple Powerbomb on Orton through the announce desk before Sikoa hits a Samoan Spike on Rhodes. The Bloodline then holds up the One hand gesture as officials check on Orton and the show comes to a close.
