Ric Flair is renowned for his unparalleled achievements in the industry. His debut in AEW was highly anticipated and widely regarded as a significant moment. However, recent indications suggest that his partnership with AEW may have concluded.

Tony Khan welcomed The Nature Boy Ric Flair to AEW in October 2023 as a special gift to Sting in honor of his retirement, which took place earlier this year at the Revolution pay-per-view. Flair’s last televised appearance was during the Revolution event, where he accompanied Sting and Darby Allin. During the event, Flair received superkicks from The Young Bucks.

Ric Flair’s agreement with AEW was a unique arrangement where a deal was made between the wrestling company and Flair’s Wooooo! Energy as a sponsor. This setup mirrored past agreements in wrestling history, such as WCW’s deal with Slim Jim that facilitated Randy Savage’s signing without direct payment from the promotion. In Flair’s case, he was reportedly compensated by the sponsor, not directly by AEW.

However, according to a recent report by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this partnership may have ended prematurely. While Flair has not been featured on AEW television, graphics promoting Wooooo! Energy remained part of AEW programming until recent weeks, when these advertisements were suddenly removed without explanation.

Meltzer’s report indicated that the deal between AEW and Wooooo! Energy appears to be over, noting the absence of Woooo! Energy graphics on screen and suggesting that unless there are changes, viewers should not expect to see them in the future. No specific reasons or explanations were provided for the apparent end of this sponsorship agreement.

”Those who have pointed out no “Whoo! Energy” graphics on the screen of late, that is a smart observation and unless something changes it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing that going forward. There was no explanation given but unless something changes it does look like that deal is over with.”

We will have to wait and see when the WWE Hall of Famer and AEW’s partnership really did come to an end, as fans might be shocked if that turns out to be the case since they wanted to see more of The Nature Boy.
