Kenny Omega’s highly anticipated tag team partnership with Chris Jericho for the AEW World Tag Team Championships was interrupted due to his battle with diverticulitis, a serious medical condition requiring immediate attention. Following his surgery, there is now an update on his recovery progress.

During the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, Kenny Omega made a long-awaited return after an absence since December, where he discussed his ongoing battle with diverticulitis. However, his comeback was abruptly cut short when The Elite, including The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada, launched a surprise assault, forcing Omega to be written out of AEW television.

Following the attack, Omega underwent necessary surgery to address his condition and is now focusing on his recovery. As fans eagerly await updates, speculation mounts about when Omega will be cleared to return to the ring.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega is doing better and despite him not having a set date for his return, there is a prevailing sentiment that his career is not over. Currently, Omega is not cleared for any training.
