Samoa Joe reached the top of the food chain after he became the AEW World Champion and after dropping it, he began feuding with Chris Jericho. Joe was also written off AEW television this week on Dynamite and now the reason for his decision has been revealed.
During the July 10th edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and Samoa Joe squared off against each other in a Canadian Stampede Street Fight. The match was intense and physical from start to finish but took a violent turn towards the end of the match.
In a dramatic turn of events, Chris Jericho loaded Samoa Joe onto a forklift and drove him through a wall during their match. The bout was halted as Joe was unable to continue. Following the match, Joe was stretchered out and taken away in an ambulance for medical attention.
According to a report by PWInsider, Joe being written off AEW television is likely due to his upcoming commitments for the second season of the Peacock series ‘Twisted Metal,’ set to begin filming in Toronto later this month. Sources in the entertainment industry suggest that filming for the series is scheduled to continue at least through October, with intermittent breaks between episodes. This schedule potentially allows Joe a window to make future appearances in wrestling.
Regardless, it will be a while until the Samoan Submission Machine makes his return to AEW television, but it is certain Samoa Joe will have revenge in mind once he does come back.
