Adam Copeland quickly ascended to become one of AEW’s top stars last year, but at Double or Nothing, he took a significant risk that led to a serious injury and now, Hulk Hogan has commented on his injury.

In case you were not aware, Adam Copeland revealed that he suffered fractured tibia following a dangerous spot at AEW Double or Nothing in his match against Malakai Black. As a result of this, Copeland will be out of action for a long time and he even had to relinquish the TNT Championship.

While speaking on The Outbound Life, Hulk Hogan talked about Copeland’s recent cage jump. Hogan questioned the decision, considering Copeland’s established career status. He wondered why Copeland felt the need to perform such a risky move when he was already a highly respected figure in wrestling.

Hogan emphasized that such daring moves often stem from a wrestler’s desire to gain or maintain popularity, stating Copeland didn’t need to prove himself in that manner given his established fan base.

“I watched Edge [Copeland] jump off the cage the other night. I haven’t talked to him yet, but trained professional. Twlight of his career. Jumps off the top. Please explain that to me. He’s over. Most guys who do that, go up and do it because they are not over enough. Edge was over. To do that, I just don’t get it. I haven’t called him yet. I was going to call him last night, but I fell asleep. I just want to know, ‘Please explain that to me. You’re over like a son of a gun. You didn’t need to do that. You didn’t need to go up there.’ If you’re going to go up there, it doesn’t mean anything, unless you do something better than Mick Foley did. Mick Foley got thrown off the top of the cage and hit the table. If you’re going to beat Mick Foley, you have to get thrown off the top of the cage with no table. I just didn’t get it. It didn’t mean anything because Edge was so over. So over. He didn’t need that.”

Adam Copeland has confirmed that he underwent surgery for his injury. As he embarks on his road to recovery, only time will tell when he’ll be able to make his return to AEW. Until then, his absence will certainly be felt on AEW television.
