AEW has had several notable debuts since its inception, and their new hologram gimmick character has caught attention. However, Tony Khan is not going to let anyone get extremely high expectations this time around.

During the July 6 episode of AEW Collision, a vignette aired featuring a masked wrestler and a man jumping through a portal. A file named “holo.grm” was also shown. We’re not sure who is behind that character, but it created a fair amount of buzz.

Speaking to Tim & Eli on Battleground, Tony Khan addressed the tease. He clarified that it’s not the company’s biggest signing ever, but he remains excited about what’s coming. Tony also ruled himself as the person not behind the mask.

“I can confirm that was definitely not me in the mask. It’s somebody I’m excited for. Not necessarily teasing the biggest free agent signing or anything like that, but as a wrestler, we’re really excited about. It’s cool to use vignettes to get people excited about introducing somebody to AEW. It’s going to be something really cool and got people talking. We’ll have more of that. It’s fun.”
