At AEW’s Forbidden Door event, Mercedes Mone and Stephanie Vaquer put on a standout match that created lots of excitement among fans. Despite her loss, Vaquer left a lasting impression, leading to speculation that she might depart from CMLL soon. Now, it seems confirmed that both NJPW and CMLL have announced her departure from their respective companies.

We had reported that Stephanie Vaquer attracted interest from both WWE and AEW following her impressive match against Mercedes Mone. To add fuel to the fire, Vaquer even seemingly bid goodbye to CMLL during last night’s match against Tessa Blanchard.

In a joint statement, CMLL and NJPW expressed their appreciation to fans for supporting Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. They announced that Stephanie Vaquer has chosen to leave both promotions effective immediately, citing personal reasons.

As a result of her departure, Vaquer will not participate in her scheduled match against Lluvia at Fantasticamania on July 13 in San Jose. On top of that, CMLL has announced that Vaquer is being stripped of both the CMLL World Women’s and World Women’s Tag Team Championships.

”Thank you for supporting Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).

Citing personal reasons, Stephanie Vaguer has elected to depart from the CMLL and NJPW rosters effective immediately.”

Both organizations issued apologies to their fans worldwide for the sudden nature of this announcement. This Saturday at FantasticaMania USA, a new CMLL World Women’s Champion will be determined in a three-way match: Lluvia (CMLL) vs Viva Van (NJPW) vs Willow Nightingale (AEW).

Now that she is no longer working in CMLL, Stephanie Vaquer’s potential move to either AEW or WWE presents exciting prospects for her career. Both promotions offer substantial platforms for exposure and professional growth. As fans eagerly await her decision, there is tons of excitement about how her talent will introduce fresh dynamics to her chosen promotion. There is no doubt that the sky is the limit for her now.
