WWE is certainly expanding its horizons when it comes to working with other promotions now. After all, WWE is working with Pro Wrestling NOAH for a huge crossover match soon and it appears the Vice President of NOAH wants to invite several WWE Superstars after AJ Styles.
As previously reported, Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE announced that AJ Styles will face off against Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH Destination 2024 on July 13 at Budokan Hall and fans are hyped for the match for good reason.
In case you were not aware, WWE and NOAH previously collaborated in 2023, as Shinsuke Nakamura faced the Great Muta at NOAH’s New Year show and it was a great success as well.
While speaking with Pep S. Caro of Planeta Wrestling, NOAH Vice President Naomichi Marufuji discussed his upcoming match against Styles. Marufuji praised Styles as a great fighter and one of the best in the world, expressing his hope that fans would enjoy their exchanges during the match and his confidence in achieving that.
“He (Styles) is a great fighter in every way and one of the best in the world. I want the fans to really enjoy my exchanges during the match with him, and I think we can achieve that.”
Marufuji was then asked if there were other wrestlers in WWE or other international companies he wanted to face, either in a NOAH ring or in his opponent’s company’s ring. He expressed interest in all WWE wrestlers and his desire to invite several to compete in the NOAH ring. However, he noted that he would need more training before competing in a WWE ring, so he couldn’t commit to doing so immediately.
“I am interested in all WWE wrestlers. I want to invite several wrestlers to compete in the NOAH ring. To compete in the WWE ring, I think I need more training before that, so I can’t say I want to do it right now.”
We have also reported the reason for AJ Styles’ appearance at NOAH’s Destination event. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether other WWE Superstars will make their way to NOAH eventually.
