The July 10 edition of AEW Dynamite, featured the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup took place, featuring two of AEW’s top competitors on the women’s side.

The highly anticipated match saw last year’s winner, Willow Nightingale, who looked to win the prestigious cup once again, compete against the surprise upstart in the tournament, Mariah May.

This thrilling encounter showcased the incredible skills of both athletes, who recognized the significant opportunity awaiting the tournament victor.

Towards the end of the bout, Willow’s heated rivals, Kris Statlander and Stokely Hatheway, provided a distraction, but Willow still managed to stay in the match. However, Mariah reversed her Firearm Carry, culminating in a roll-up pinfall that crowned her 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Cup winner.

Mariah’s victory has now earned her a title shot against AEW Women’s World Champion and her mentor, Timeless Toni Storm, at AEW’s premier event next month, AEW All-In. As the duo walked up to the ramp, Mariah May shockingly began assaulting Toni Storm and Luther, first with her title and then with Storm’s shoe. She even struck a referee and stood tall over a bloodied Toni Storm in a heinous betrayal.
