WWE’s NXT brand and TNA Wrestling now share a unique arrangement, with talent exchanges bringing new dynamics to both rosters. On the July 9 episode of NXT, a notable name was backstage.
Top Dolla, now known as AJ Francis in TNA Wrestling after his WWE release, has done well, becoming the TNA Digital Media Champion. Although he did not appear on screen, he was present at the recent NXT taping.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that AJ Francis was backstage during the taping. The context of his visit was not disclosed, nor was there any indication of future plans for the former Hit Row leader.
There is no word on whether Francis is planned for an on-screen appearance in NXT, but he has openly expressed interest. TNA continues to collaborate with NXT, with stars from both rosters crossing over.
Multiple TNA stars appeared on the July 9 episode of NXT. The Rascalz reunited with Wes Lee, and Joe Hendry teamed up with Trick Williams to defeat Shawn Spears and NXT Champion Ethan Page. TNA stars are becoming increasingly common at WWE NXT events, leaving many to speculate about the future of this partnership.
