WWE NXT Heatwave 2024 took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada on July 7th and there was a ton of action for fans that kept them glued to their seats. In fact, WWE’s internal reaction to the overall performances at Heatwave has now been revealed.

The NXT Heatwave Premium Live Event was memorable for a multitude of reasons, especially for the main event which saw Ethan Page become the NXT Champion in a callback to a classic Shawn Michaels match.

According to Fightful Select, sources Sean Ross Sapp spoke to expressed immense satisfaction with the reception and performances at the NXT Heatwave show. They noted that the event’s card had evolved significantly from its original plan several months ago. Maintaining this positive momentum as NXT transitions into the CW era is crucial for the company.

The NXT Heatwave Premium Live Event also ended with a shot of Joe Hendry, further raising intrigue for his future appearance on the July 9th edition of NXT.

Therefore, it is clear day that the NXT Heatwave Premium Live Event was an all round success from top to bottom and will go down as one of the best shows made by Shawn Michaels, so we’ll have to see if the next NXT Premium Live Event will be able to surpass Heatwave in the end.
