Internal Reaction to Damon Kemp’s Sudden WWE Exit

The brother of the recently released Gable Steveson, who joined WWE in August 2021 and quickly rose through the ranks, will start taking bookings from August 12. After debuting in NXT later that year as part of Diamond Mine, he eventually turned heel and left the faction, later aligning with the No Quarter Catch Crew.

Kemp’s last match in WWE was on the June 25 edition of NXT, where he was defeated by Tavion Heights in a singles competition. This departure came as a shock to fans as they just wanted him to succeed in the company.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Damon Kemp’s release from WWE. Meltzer noted that Kemp’s sudden departure was unexpected for many within WWE.

“I’ve asked around with people that know him, and I’ve heard basically contradictory stories, but what I will say is that the people who are around are all surprised.”
