The Hurt Business, consisting of Bobby Lashley, MVP, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin, significantly impacted WWE. They boosted each member’s career and amassed a dedicated fanbase. Despite their achievements, the faction disbanded in 2021, disappointing fans. Recently, Benjamin confirmed there were plans for a Hurt Business reunion, but they never came to fruition.

Roman Reigns also felt that the faction was broken up too early. Even Bobby Lashley previously said the breakup ‘hurt his heart‘ and many fans were just disappointed at how the faction was handled as a whole towards the end.

While speaking in a recent interview with Metro, Shelton Benjamin described The Hurt Business as one of his “defining contributions” to professional wrestling, expressing his belief that the faction’s run was prematurely ended. He revealed there were plans to revive the group last year, but these plans never materialized.

“There was definitely conversation and planning for the Hurt Business to make a return. And then things just changed. They set dates, the dates changed and things changed. And then suddenly it was like, ‘Nope, we’re just not doing it.’ And that was… that was a kick in the balls. [laughs]”

Shelton Benjamin acknowledged that the decision to disband The Hurt Business was beyond their control, and they had to accept it and move on. Despite this, he pointed out the faction’s immense potential to elevate every member involved.

“I love being a part of helping people succeed. But in the case of the Hurt Business, I felt like there was so much more for every individual in that to really elevate themselves within the company. And I think the fact that there was no Hurt Business versus Bloodline war is one of the biggest mishaps in pro wrestling.”

Last month, MVP claimed that Triple H refused to bring back The Hurt Business and this led to a ton of controversy. Regardless, fans will forever miss The Hurt Business, as it is unlikely the group will ever return again.
