CM Punk made a significant impact at Money in the Bank, despite not being scheduled for a match. He traveled to Toronto to disrupt Drew McIntyre’s attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank contract. While the men’s MITB briefcase is no longer in play for the year, the feud between Punk and McIntyre is far from over.

The July 8 episode of WWE RAW featured many key moments as the company builds toward SummerSlam following Money in the Bank. The show opened with CM Punk delivering a promo.

Punk entered the ring with a smile, expressing his delight to be in Canada and praising John Cena’s retirement announcement. He mentioned his desire to wrestle Cena one more time before Cena retires.

Punk then addressed Drew McIntyre, showing a clip of McIntyre’s outburst after Money in the Bank. Punk stated that McIntyre should have expected consequences for his actions, declaring, “CM Punk is the consequence of your stupid actions!”

Punk also urged Adam Pearce to lift McIntyre’s suspension, stating that everyone wants to see them clash. At this point, Seth Rollins entered, shifting the direction of the segment.

CM Punk is focused on revenge, and McIntyre’s trolling during Punk’s injury hiatus hasn’t gone unnoticed. Despite the severe beating Punk received from McIntyre in Chicago for SmackDown, Punk made a strong return.

Punk apologized to Rollins for interfering with his World Heavyweight Championship plans at Money in the Bank but quickly added, “since it’s you I can’t be that sorry.”

Rollins accused Punk of gaslighting and reignited their feud, which was supposed to lead to a match at WrestleMania 40. Rollins reminded Punk that the world doesn’t revolve around him, stating, “you can be a selfish bastard anywhere else, you can burn bridges anywhere else, I’ll let it slide, because I’m above you. I’m not just talking about the heels. I was willing to let that selfishness slide until Saturday, because if it wasn’t for you I’d be standing here as World Heavyweight Champion.” Rollins, having lost, cannot challenge Damian Priest for the title again.

Rollins then vowed to break Punk’s arm and sideline him again once he is cleared to compete, emphasizing, “actions have consequences.” The segment concluded with fans in Ontario singing Rollins’ song.
