The 2024 WWE Money in the Bank event in Toronto, Canada, was truly a night of memorable moments and solid matches. One of the biggest things from the show was John Cena confirming his retirement from in-ring competition in 2025 and it appears he and CM Punk shared a moment backstage during the show.

Amidst a thunderous ovation, John Cena stepped into the ring at WWE Money in the Bank in Toronto and dropped a bombshell: he announced his upcoming retirement from WWE. The crowd’s reaction was a whirlwind of mixed emotions, reflecting both admiration and sadness at the prospect of Cena hanging up his boots.

WWE took to their official Twitter account and uploaded a video of CM Punk and John Cena meeting backstage during the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. The two shared a moment where Punk was talking about his triceps injury and the two men then embraced while sharing laughs.

”Legendary opponents @JohnCena and @CMPunk reunited backstage last night at #MITB, the event these two defined together.”
