WWE has a packed schedule with many big events that fans are eagerly anticipating. However, it seems they are making some changes that will reduce the number of house shows for now.

An update on WWE’s summer touring schedule indicates that the company is cutting back on the number of events. Previously, WWE would tour extensively across the country, sometimes with wrestlers performing twice in one day in different cities. This approach is being adjusted.

According to Dave Meltzer in a Wrestling Observer Daily Update report, WWE has made significant reductions to the number of house shows scheduled for this summer. This also includes the NXT brand, who don’t have as many Coconut Loop shows this summer either.

“WWE has cut way back this summer on house shows as well as NXT shows. There are only a few main roster house shows this summer and only five NXT house shows this summer.”

WWE has several major shows lined up, beginning with the WWE Money in the Bank premium live event on July 6 in Toronto, Canada. Ringside News will provide complete coverage of this event, as well as the NXT show the following night. NXT will then host its Heatwave premium live event at the Scotiabank Arena.

Following Money in the Bank and Heatwave, WWE SummerSlam is set for August 3 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. After SummerSlam, WWE will head to Germany for Bash In Berlin on August 31.

It appears WWE is focusing more on these major events, as house shows have not been the biggest revenue generators for the company. By cutting back on live events, WWE is prioritizing more profitable ventures.
