Wade Barrett had a notable first run in WWE, winning the inaugural season of NXT, leading The Nexus, and securing championship reigns. After returning to NXT in 2020 as a color commentator, he later transitioned to SmackDown. Interestingly enough, he has now revealed the condition for him to compete in one last match.
It’s a known fact that Wade Barrett’s career received a significant boost with his “Bad News Barrett” persona, which resonated strongly with fans and revitalized his presence in WWE. Prior to this character, his career had stalled.
With Triple H taking over as WWE’s creative head in July 2022, many Superstars have made their returns to the ring. However, Wade Barrett has not wrestled since 2016 and fans wonder if it will ever happen.
While speaking with Metro, Wade Barrett addressed the possibility of competing in another match. Barrett noted that he is fit and healthy and is willing to compete in a match as long as it makes sense.
”I’m fit and healthy, if something came up where, ‘Okay, there’s a match here, would you be interested in doing it?’ If it makes sense to me and I was excited to do it, absolutely, I could.”
Barrett’s last match took place on the April 4, 2016, episode of RAW where he teamed up with Sheamus in a losing effort against Big E and Kofi Kingston. We will have to wait and see whether the former leader of the Nexus will end up competing in the ring in the future as fans would love to see that happen.
