Vince McMahon, formerly a board member of TKO Holdings, is embroiled in a human trafficking lawsuit and is currently one of the most controversial figures in pro wrestling. Despite that, a former WWE star has urged Tony Khan to sign McMahon to AEW.
One of the biggest topics of discussion in pro wrestling lately is definitely the idea of Shane McMahon making his way to AEW. Even Tony Khan also made it clear that Shane McMahon is more than welcome in AEW.
However, no one has ever thought of possibly having Vince McMahon make his way to AEW. While speaking on The Stevie Richards Show, the former WWE star stated that Shane McMahon would be a great signing for AEW.
Right after that, Stevie Richards made a very controversial statement, as he urged Tony Khan to sign Vince McMahon. This is despite the fact that McMahon is engaged in a lawsuit as well as a federal investigation.
“I would go as far as to say try to get Vince. That would be nuts. You talking about a guy who has a chip on his shoulder right now. Don’t think because he’s 77, 78 years old and he walks with a cane and he has a villain mustache that this dude doesn’t miss the fight. He’s fighting now for a lot of different things in court and legal stuff but he still has it in him to want to. Just think about that I mean and that’s really, Shane’s an outlier at a percentage of probably I would say between 10 and 30%. Vince between 1 to 8% but it’s still kind of a cool fantasy booking.”
There is also an expectation within WWE that the feds will find dirt on Vince McMahon as part of their ongoing investigation. On the other hand, Vince Russo believes Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon are secretly plotting to purchase AEW. Nevertheless, anything is possible within the world of professional wrestling, so we’ll have to see if Vince McMahon somehow makes it to AEW, if not Shane McMahon.
