The AEW Forbidden Door pay-per-view was truly a night of memorable moments and solid matches, as the show had a little bit of everything for fans. In light of the event, the early estimated pay-per-view buys for the show have been revealed.

The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view was headlined by a tremendous match featuring Will Ospreay against Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship, where Swerve retained his title.

Mercedes Mone also became a double champion after defeating Stephanie Vaquer for the NJPW Women’s Strong Championship in a solid matchup. Other matches saw Jack Perry becoming the TNT Champion, Bryan Danielson defeating Shingo Takagi and more.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that the early estimated pay-per-view buys for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event are between 110,000 to 116,000.

AEW President Tony Khan had noted that the show had a $1 million gate as well. Regardless, Forbidden Door will be remembered as one of the better events of the year and that’s all that matters to Tony Khan in the end.
