Adam Cole’s ankle injury during AEW Grand Slam last year, which resulted in fractures in three different places, has greatly disrupted his wrestling plans. Despite undergoing surgery last year, his in-ring return status has been delayed due to the complexity of his injury.

Kevin Owens was the first to break the news of Adam Cole’s surgery, which was later confirmed. Despite several months passing since the injury, Adam Cole, now known as The Devil and leader of The Undisputed Kingdom, has yet to return to the ring despite no longer needing a wheelchair.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that due to the complexity of Cole’s injury, there is still more time that he will be on the shelf but the hope is it won’t be too long now.

“Because of the complexity of the injury, there’s still a little time left out of action, but he hopes it’s not much longer.”

MJF returned at AEW Double or Nothing and effectively ended his feud with Adam Cole right there and then. We will have to wait and see what will become of Adam Cole in the end, as it will still be a while until his return.
