Roman Reigns’ Initial Reaction to The Rock Being Handed WrestleMania 40 Main Event

The Rock’s recent stint in WWE leading up to WrestleMania 40 created significant buzz and excitement, especially when it was initially revealed The Rock and Roman Reigns would battle at WrestleMania 40 instead. In light of this, Roman Reigns’ initial reaction to The Rock getting the WrestleMania 40 main event spot has been revealed.

After winning the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match, Cody Rhodes appeared set to challenge The Tribal Chief for the second consecutive year. However, Rhodes surprised many by confronting the leader of The Bloodline and announcing that he would not be his opponent at this year’s Show of Shows. Instead, he relinquished his spot to The Rock, initially intended to be his challenger.

While fans had clamored for The Rock and Roman Reigns to do battle at The Showcase of The Immortals, many felt he forcefully inserted himself into the WrestleMania 40 main event.

During the WrestleMania XL: Behind The Curtain documentary, footage captures Roman Reigns, The Rock, Triple H, Paul Heyman, and others expressing excitement and confidence backstage after the in-ring SmackDown segment on February 2.

Following applause, The Rock pledged to discuss matters with the group later in the week before departing to maintain his hectic schedule. Meanwhile, The Head of the Table spoke to the WWE camera as he navigated the backstage area and noted how he felt it was cool as fans had been clamoring for The Rock vs Roman Reigns for so long.

“It’s cool because our fans have been clamoring for this for a long time. So, it’s good to be able to give them something that they’re looking forward to. It’s good to deliver on something.”

Ringside News has also exclusively reported additional details about The Rock’s plans to win the WWE Undisputed Championship before handing it back to Roman Reigns. Nevertheless, many fans are happy with how things turned out in the end and that’s truly all that matters.
