WWE is experiencing a period of incredible growth and change, with one notable development being NXT’s move to the CW Network later this year. Ahead of the move, Shawn Michaels has addressed NXT potentially going on the road.

While WWE Superstars typically have obligations to travel for live events, many fans wondered if that meant NXT Superstars would eventually have to go on the road later this year as well

While speaking on the NXT Heatwave media call, Shawn Michaels was asked about WWE NXT possibly going on the road once it moves to the CW Network on October 1st this year. Shawn Michaels acknowledged the rumors but made it clear that nothing is set in stone. He praised the Orlando home base, stating there’s no need to leave it full-time. However, he mentioned that these decisions are beyond his pay grade, allowing him to focus on NXT.

Michaels made it clear he was for their upcoming trip to Toronto, noting that it’s a significant experience for younger talents who have never traveled outside the country. He believes that taking PPVs on the road strikes a good balance and doesn’t foresee any immediate changes. However, he also noted that in WWE, plans can always change.

“That’s one of those things I’ve heard as well, but it’s not set in stone. Being at home in Orlando, that’s fantastic. That’s something I don’t want to get away from totally. Those things are above my pay grade.”

The debate over whether NXT stars should venture onto the road remains open. Some argue that exposure to live events could enhance their development and fan interaction, providing valuable experience in different settings. Others stated that preserving the brand’s focus on training and televised programming is paramount, ensuring that talent development remains consistent and controlled. Regardless, only time will tell if NXT will eventually go on the road.
