It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! The NXT Heatwave go-home episode of WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the July 2, 2024 episode.

WWE NXT Results (7/2/2024):

The show opens up with Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T welcoming us as we get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a Street Fight.

Street Fight: OTM’s Jaida Parker vs. The O.C.’s Michin

The match starts off with Parker meeting Michin on the ramp with a kendo stick in hand. Michin then hits Parker with a chop, then grabs a pipe and a chair from the garbage can she brought to the ring with her. Michin then pulls out a kendo stick and a tool box from under the ring, then grabs a china and puts it in a sock. Michin then looks to hit Parker with the chain, but Parker sees her coming and hits a chop on Michin. Michin then tosses a garbage can lid and a garbage can in the ring. Parker then hits Michin with the garbage can lid in her midsection, then sends her crashing into the mat. Michin then hits a German suplex on Parker, then removes her belt and hits Parker with it. Parker then drapes Michin through the middle turnbuckle, then sends Michin crashing on top of a garbage can. Michin then hits Parker in her midsection with a chair and sends her crashing into the ring post. Michin then sets up three chairs, but Parker hits Michin across her spine with a chair. Michin then places Parker on one of the three chairs, then looks to hit a tope suicida on Parker. Parker then moves out of the way and Michin is sent crashing into the chair face first. Parker then charges at Michin, but Michin moves out of the way and Parker is sent crashing through the barricade.

Michin then hits Parker with a bag full of nuts and bolts. Michin then dumps them on a pile of chairs, then looks to send Parker crashing through them. Parker then counters into a back body drop and goes for a pin, but Michin kicks out. Michin then repeatedly hits a kendo stick across Parker’s spine and places a garbage can on Parker. Michin then nails Parker with a cannonball and pins her, but Parker kicks out. Michin then grabs a pipe, then looks to hit Parker with it. Parker then counters with a fire extinguisher, then hits a running knee on Michin that sends them both crashing through the NXT set. Parker then gets Michin in the ring and runs the ropes, then hits her with a Hip Attack for the win.

We then head to the back, where we see Arianna Grace and Karmen Petrovic in the locker room. Grace was sighing to get Karmen’s attention. Grace says she is sighing because Sol Ruca snatched her soul and took away her opportunity to perform in front of her home crowd. Petrovic then says she understands because she is also not performing in front of her home crowd. Grace then says Petrovic is not as Canadian as her. Jacy Jayne then shows up to talk trash and point out that Natalya isn’t around to have Petrovic’s back.

We then get a promo video on “The Young OG” Je’von Evans. Evans says it is crazy that he is wrestling in his first PLE main event. Evans then says he has never even left the U.S. before and has to get a passport to wrestle at Heatwave. Evans then says he is not afraid of Spears, Page or even Trick. Evans then says once he comes back to the United States he’ll be the new NXT Champion.

Highlights are then shown of Kelani Jordan becoming the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion. Jordan talks about her gymnastic accolades and how she was nominated for the NCAA women’s athlete of the year. Jordan then says she is not the first North American Champion. Jordan then says no one is going to defend the title like her. Jordan then says Sol Ruca has everything it takes to be champion. Jordan then talks about how Michael Jordan said “some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, and some make it happen”. Jordan then says at Heatwave she is going to Make it Happen.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: New Catch Republic (“The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne and “The Big Strong Boy” Tyler Bate) vs. Hank & Tank (Hank Walker and Tank Ledger)

The match starts off with Bate and Walker. Both men lock up and take turns pinning each other and locking each other in submission holds. Dunne then tags in and hits a chop on Walker before Ledger tags in and runs Dunne over with a shoulder tackle. Walker and Ledger then hit a double running splash on Dunne, but Dunne stomps on Ledger’s hand. Bate then tags in and flies over Dunne off the middle turnbuckle to land on Ledger. Ledger then hits a flying shoulder tackle on Bate, but Bate responds with a suplex on Ledger. Walker then tags in and Bate gets him up on his shoulders. Bate then hits an Airplane Spin on Walker, then kips up. Dunne then stomps on both of Ledger’s hands. Dunne then delivers a few stomps on Ledger’s face, then blasts Ledger. Ledger then sends Dunne crashing into the mat, then tags in Walker. Walker then hits a splash on Dunne in the corner, then sends him crashing into the top turnbuckle face first. Walker then hits a boot on Dunne, then gets Dunne up on his shoulders. Dunne then escapes by locking in an arm submission on Walker. Ledger then tags in and he double teams Dunne with Walker. The action then spills out of the ring and Bate looks to fly to land on Walker and Ledger. Walker and Ledger then catch Bate, then they send him crashing into Dunne. Walker and Ledger then send Dunne and Bate crashing onto the floor. Walker then tags back in before he climbs to the top and looks to fly. Dunne then nails him with a knee. Bate and Ledger then tag in and Dunne snaps Ledger’s fingers. Bate then nails Ledger with a rebound clothesline and a Spiral Tap off the top rope for the win.

After the match, New Catch Republic shakes hands with Walker and Ledger.

We then get a promo video from Shawn Spears. Spears talks about how he returned to NXT to help teach the next generation and share his wealth of knowledge. Spears then says his lessons were met with reluctance. Spears then says now he will lead by example. Spears then says after he wins the title, he will make the young talent see the light. Spears then says that he pinned Je’Von Evans and was the first person to pin Trick since Trick became Champion. Spears then says he will leave Canada as the NXT Champion.

We then see NXT General Manager Ava’s assistants Robert Stone and Stevie Turner bicker with each other while praising Oro Mensah for his story last week. Oro then yells at them to stop bickering. Stone says that Oro was given a match for this show against Myles Borne. Turner then tells Oro that the bad news is Oro can’t go to Heatwave due to his constant attacks on Ethan Page. Oro then says it’s okay and he has a match to prepare for. Stone then says he is going to tell Ava about the bad job Turner is doing. Turner then says who’s the narc now.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Brinley Reece vs. Izzi Dame

The match starts off with Dame hitting a bodyslam on Reece, but Reece responds with some forearms on Dame. Dame then hits Reece with a series of shoulder tackles, then follows it up with a clothesline. Tatum Paxley then appears at ringside and stares down Dame. Reece then takes advantage and rolls up Dame, but Dame kicks out. Reece then gets Dame up on her shoulders, but Dame escapes and hits a boot on her. Dame then hits Reece with a Falcon Arrow for the win.

We then head to the Chase U classroom, where Duke Hudson voices his frustrations with Ridge Holland cheating. Hudson then gives Andre Chase proof in the form of a photograph and Holland apologizes. Chase then accepts Holland’s apology, but informs him that he will not be joining himself, Duke Hudson, Thea Hail and Riley Osborne at NXT Heatwave.

Lola Vice is shown waiting in the middle of the ring for the face-off with WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez.

Vice starts off by telling Perez that the clock is ticking, then calls her down to the ring. Perez then makes her way down to the ring with two security guards. Vice asks Perez why she needs security with her and Perez tells Vice that it’s to make sure that she won’t attack and steal the NXT Women’s Championship from her. Perez then tells Vice she sees through her and that Heatwave will be the biggest match of Vice’s career. Perez then says Vice has made more of a name for herself in WWE in a few short months than she ever did in Bellator and Vice isn’t the same woman who cashed in her Women’s Breakout Contract on her. Perez then tells Vice that it will be a wrestling match on Sunday and not a MMA fight and it’s her world rather than Vice’s. Perez then says she will make Vice wrestle her kind of match.

Vice then tells Perez that she’s a fighter and that everyone knows Perez’s story and not her own. Vice then recalls going into MMA to provide for her family and says at 20, she was fighting at Madison Square Garden. Vice then says her mother will be watching her on Sunday and she is looking forward to calling her mother and telling her that she’s the new NXT Women’s Champion. Perez then says she didn’t know any of that and she respects Vice’s story. Perez then says the reality is that every woman in the NXT locker room wants to make the same phone call that she does. Perez then says while she’s the champion, those phone calls are never made. Perez then says she’s building a legacy as a two time NXT Women’s Champion and she won’t be giving up her title. Vice then says Perez doesn’t need to give her any title because she’ll take it from her. Vice then says she smiled when Perez gave her the best shot she could while Perez crumbled when she gave her the best shot she could. Vice then vows to rip the NXT Women’s Championship off her arm, then stares down Perez. Perez’s security then steps in front of her, but Vice hits the 305 on one of the guards. Vice then says we may be in Perez’s world, but after Sunday Perez won’t know what world she’s in.

We then get a promo video package on “All Ego” Ethan Page. Page talks about going after Trick Williams to start his NXT career. Page then says he has made a name for himself around the world. Page then says after Battleground and NXT, Trick and Evans found out what he’s all about. Page then says he respects a fellow Canadian in Spears, but there can only be one man on top and that is him. Page then talks about leaving Sunday as champion.

We then see Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights helping Myles Borne warm up. Damon Kemp then shows up and tries to suck up to Charlie Dempsey with the Brass Knuckles he found. Dempsey then dismisses Kemp. Dempsey then tries to give Borne some words of encouragement, but Bourne couldn’t hear Dempsey.

We then see developmental women wrestlers praising Eddy Thorpe in a lounge about his DJ background. Lexis King then shows up and talks about how Rock music is better than EDM. Lexis then says the girls are into long haired rockstars. Thorpe then says maybe King should have more of an open mind. After King leaves, Thorpe invites the girls to a show he was DJ’ing at.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Meta-Four’s Oro Mensah vs. No Quarter Catch Crew’s Myles Borne

The match starts off with both men taking turns locking in submission holds on each other before Mensah hits a single leg dropkick on Borne off the top rope. Mensah then hits Borne with a forearm on his spine, but Borne nails Mensah with a jumping neckbreaker. Borne then hits a forearm on Mensah. Mensah then responds with one of his own and both men continue going back and forth hitting them on each other. Mensah then hits a kick on Borne’s face, then follows it up with a springboard moonsault and a suplex. Borne then hits a dropkick on Mensah and Damon Kemp looks to hand him a pair of brass knuckles. Dempsey then asks him what he’s doing, opening the door for Mensah to hits a roundhouse kick on Borne for the win.

After the match, Oro gets in the camera and yells that he is coming after Ethan Page after Page comes back from Heatwave.

Vic Joseph then sends us to a Wes Lee hype package.

Wes Lee talks about how he was a tag team wrestler who was forced to go out on his own, then becoming the NXT North American Champion. Lee says he literally broke his back to defend the title. A replay is then shown of Wes Lee’s promo where he had to leave due to a back injury. Lee then says he wants nothing else other than to get the title back. During Lee’s promo, you can see Oba Femi’s silhouette. Lee then says his match against Oba could be his last title match and if he doesn’t win he doesn’t know what he’ll do. We then get a promo from NXT North American Champion Oba Femi. Femi says Wes Lee is living in the past. Femi then says he understands why because Lee is a decorated champion with a connection with the NXT Universe. Femi then says this is Wes Lee’s last chance to pull it off. Femi then brags about being the epitome of dominance, taking down everyone in front of him. Femi then says Lee is no different. Femi then says he won’t just crush Lee’s body, but crush his final dream.

We then head to the back and we see Gallus brawling with Tyriek Igwe and Tyson DuPont.

Edris Enofé and Malik Blade were then shown trying to encourage Brinley Reece about her recent loss. Enofé tries to say that positivity doesn’t lead to results. A depressed Reece then says she understands if Enofé and Blade don’t want to hang out with her anymore. Blade then tries to cheer Reece up. Blade, Enofé and Reece then leaves. The Good Brothers then gets in the camera to talk trash about OTM.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Carlee Bright vs. Wendy Choo

The match starts off with Bright wasting no time in delivering some forearms on Choo. Both women then go back and forth before Bright hits another forearm on Choo. Choo then jams her knee into the back of Bright’s neck, then hits her with a neck crank and rakes her spine. Choo then sends Bright into the corner, then drapes her by her knees off the top turnbuckle and hits her with a dropkick. Choo then goes for a pin, but Bright kicks out. Bright then hits a hurricanrana on Choo, then follows it up with a dropkick. Bright then looks to hits a standing moonsault on Choo, but Choo gets her knees up. Choo then hits Bright with a clothesline and locks in a Sleeper and Bright taps.

We then get a hype promo from WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams. Trick calls Shawn Spears goofy and Ethan Page “all talk”. Trick then says you already know what’s going down at Heatwave and that is him keeping the NXT Championship.

We then see WWE Hall of Famer and NXT executive Shawn Michaels address the recent Brooks Jensen controversy. HBK says there have been a bunch of disturbances at the performance center in recent months involving Brooks Jensen. HBK then says Jensen has been making negative remarks about NXT. HBK then says people have reported that Jensen has been released, but those reports aren’t true. Clips of Jensen getting drunk on hard liquor were then shown. HBK then says Jensen was told to stay home because he spiraled out of control after splitting with Josh Briggs. HBK then says the smart thing would be to let him go, but he believes that Jensen is a part of the NXT family and he believes in 2nd chances. HBK then says he invites Jensen to sit down with Ava next week to talk about his future.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Karmen Petrovic vs. Jazmyn Nyx

The match starts off with both women taking turns in locking each other in submission holds before Petrovic hits a blockbuster on Nyx. Nyx then hits a kick on Petrovic’s midsection, then follows it up with a neckbreaker and a Shining Wizard. We then see Fallon Henley watching the action from backstage as Nyx wears Petrovic down with a submission. Petrovic then escapes with a pinfall, but Nyx kicks out. Petrovic then hits a bulldog on Nyx. Jayne then distracts the referee, opening the door for Nyx to hit a Pele Kick on Petrovic for the win.

WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom were then shown talking strategy backstage. Frazer says he was confused when Axiom said the words “tagged in”. Frazer then says he wasn’t talking strategy about their tag match, but his upcoming WWE Speed Match against Xavier Woods. Axiom then says he didn’t like Frazer ignoring their upcoming tag defense. Frazer then says they can watch tape on Friday.

We then see Karmen Petrovic protest to NXT General Manager Ava about how she wants to get her hands on Nyx and Petrovic. Ava then says Karmen’s friend showed up and she doesn’t have to face Nyx and Jayne alone. Petrovic then asks where Natalya was. Ava then says it wasn’t Natalya. Arianna Grace then shows up and says she’s Karmen’s tag team partner to wrestle in their home country of Canada. Petrovic then looks annoyed.

We then get a video vignette on Sol Ruca. Sol talks about setting up structures on the beach to train herself. Sol then says she taught herself through trial and error. Sole then says that led to her being an athletic national champion at the University of Oregon. Sol then says she came up short to the better woman at Battleground. Sol then quotes Lebron James in saying “You can’t be afraid to fail, it’s the only way you succeed”. Sol then says everyone else may talk the talk, but she is focused on walking the walk and snatching a few souls along the way. Sole then says she is looking forward to leaving Heatwave as NXT Women’s North American Champion.

Vic Joseph then runs through the advertised Heatwave card.

“All Ego” Ethan Page, Shawn Spears and “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans are already in the ring for the WWE NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way contract signing. WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams then makes his way down to the ring.

Williams starts off by saying that a Heatwave is coming to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Williams then says the people there will be chanting “Whoop That Trick”. Page then cuts him off and says Williams will bring the same energy whether it’s a singles match or a Fatal 4-Way. Page then says Williams is the hottest thing in WWE, but he saw that swagger in him. Page then says he saw that same swagger at NXT Battleground, but Heatwave won’t be the same as Battleground. Page then reminds Williams he doesn’t have to beat him to become the new NXT Champion.

Williams then tells Page that the odds don’t favor him, but his back is always against the wall. Williams then says that Page is always bringing up his resume, but he has a resume of his own and he will add another win to it on Sunday. Spears then tells Williams that he admires his emotion, but says that his emotion allowed him to defeat him last week and will be what allows him to win the NXT Championship at Heatwave. Evans then signs the contract as he gets into it with Spears on the mic. Spears then signs the contract and tells Evans he’s like any sports team that is happy to be there and can’t win the finals. Evans then admits to being nervous about Sunday, but says he’s also excited because when he walks into Heatwave, everyone will know him. Evans then asks Spears how much time he’s spent as NXT Champion, then tells him that he’ll show him what an NXT Champion really looks like when he walks out of Heatwave as the new champion.

Spears then hands the contract to Williams and Page as he asks Williams about what Evans just said. Page then signs the contract and says he doesn’t like Williams or Evans’ odds very much. Williams then says it will be every man for themself on Sunday, then tells Evans that while he likes him, he can’t take the NXT Championship from him as is the case for Page and Spears. Spears, Page and Evans then begin arguing with each other. Spears then shoves Evans as Page delivers some right hands on Williams. Williams then hits a flapjack on Page through the table as Evans powerbombs Spears through the other one. Williams and Evans then stare each other down as the show comes to a close.
