Brooks Jensen, a rising star in NXT, is currently portrayed as a free agent within the NXT storyline. On June 21st, Jensen declared his free agency, stating his departure from WWE to explore new opportunities, though this announcement was part of a storyline.

This was followed by countless breaches of security encounters, being removed from the WWE Performance Center and firing continuous shots at the top brass of NXT, General Manager Ava and SVP, Shawn Michaels.

On the July 2 edition of WWE NXT, Shawn Michaels finally broke his silence on the situation. He stated that after his split from Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen became unhinged and developed a drinking problem.

When advised to go home and recuperate, Brooks refused and instead tried each week to invade NXT and take jabs at the top personnel. Moreover, Michaels also cleared the air of rumours of his free agency and stated that he was still a part of the NXT family.
