Lio Rush, who rejoined the AEW family after a previous departure, competed in the TNT Ladder Match at Forbidden Door. Unfortunately, he sustained an injury during the match and has now provided an update, confirming his current health status.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, the AEW TNT Championship was up for grabs in a Ladder Match featuring Jack Perry, Lio Rush, El Phantasmo, Dante Martin, Mark Briscoe, and Konosuke Takeshita. The match was packed with high spots that showed off each competitor’s skills and personal storyline.
Lio Rush endured two brutal bumps into ladders amidst the chaos and it was clear he was hurting. In the end, Jack Perry emerged victorious, clinching the championship, a result that many fans found unsurprising.
It was then announced that Lio Rush sustained an injury during the ladder match and has been withdrawn from Beyond Wrestling’s upcoming Americanrana show on July 4th. In light of his injury announcement, Lio Rush took to Twitter and confirmed that he will require a couple of ice baths and stated he would be better.
‘‘I’m good guys. Couple ice baths and I’ll be straight. I appreciate the concern 💪🏽”
It is good to know that Lio Rush didn’t suffer any serious injury after the ladder match, but he will need some time off to fully recover after getting banged up so much. We’ll have to see when he will return to the squared circle.
