Dijak is now a free agent, which surprised some fans that WWE let him go. His contract ran out, and they didn’t re-sign him. That being said, the company had a strategy when it came to his final days with the company.
At Night 2 of the 2024 WWE Draft, Dijak was drafted to the Raw brand in the supplemental draft, marking his return to the main roster after two years. On the June 19 episode of Speed, Dijak lost to Xavier Woods in the Speed Championship #1 Contender’s tournament. This match would be Dijak’s final WWE appearance. On June 27, Dijak announced his departure from WWE, revealing that the company had not reached out to renew his contract.
Now a free agent, Dijak is free to appear wherever he chooses. Reflecting on his WWE experience, Dijak expressed frustration with his transition from NXT to the main roster, where he found himself off television for much of his remaining time with the company.
Sean Ross Sapp addressed Dijak’s situation on his Q&A show on Fightful Select, explaining that WWE had no plans to renew Dijak’s contract. As a result, they moved him off NXT, where he was getting consistent screen time, effectively sidelining him until his contract expired.
“Wasn’t thrilled from my understanding but also knows that’s not his role anymore and didn’t have anything for him because he was off NXT. They probably called him up, knowing that they were going to let him go and didn’t want him featured heavily on NXT ahead of that.”
We will have to see what Dijak does next. He already showed up at Blitzkrieg Pro Wrestling for his big return to the indies. He also cut a profanity-filled promo in the process.
The pro wrestling world will keep their eye on Dijak, because you never know where he will show up next. Without a WWE contract, he is calling his own shots now, which gives him the freedom to plan out his own path in the pro wrestling world from this point on.
