Ricochet’s WWE contract is approaching its end in the summer of 2024, and he was written off television earlier this month on Monday Night RAW. As speculation swirls about a potential move to AEW, Will Ospreay has addressed the topic as well.
During the June 10th episode of Monday Night RAW, Bron Breakker stunned viewers with vicious attack on Ricochet. Breakker’s assault was relentless, climaxing in a brutal slam against a car that rendered Ricochet incapacitated. Emergency medical personnel quickly arrived, evacuating Ricochet into an ambulance with Samantha Irvin at his side. This turn of events effectively sidelined Ricochet from WWE television for the foreseeable future.
While speaking to SHAK Wrestling, Will Ospreay was asked about Ricochet making his way to AEW. Will Ospreay mentioned that he has been advocating for Ricochet for years, long before the recent speculation due to Ricochet’s contract situation.
The Aerial Assasion stated that he regularly speaks with Ricochet and, despite the rumors, there has been no discussion between them about any potential collaboration. Ospreay hoped that Ricochet would join AEW, as he misses Ricochet as a friend and believes there is money on the table for a rematch or as a tag team together.
“Honestly, I’ve said this to a lot of people recently. I’ve been shouting his name off in the distance for years, and I really do mean it, years. It’s only now, just because his contract is coming up, that people are thinking something’s going to happen. Listen, I speak to Ricochet every now and again, and there’s nothing been said between us about whether something is going to pop off. But honestly, I hope he does. I really, really hope he does because I miss him as a friend. I do think there’s money on the table to do a rematch, but I also think there’s money on the table to do a tag team.”
We have also reported that WWE has no intention of using Ricochet for another appearance after he was written off television. It remains to be seen whether Ricochet will end up in AEW this year, as fans feel that is the most likely outcome.
