Mercedes Mone is the TBS Champion in AEW and has a lot of pride as a champion, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to see other top women’s wrestlers make their way to AEW. In fact, Mone hinted at a female free agent debuting in AEW.

While speaking in an interview with Maggie and Perloff to promote the 2024 AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door event, Mercedes Mone was asked about the possibility of Becky Lynch joining AEW. Mercedes responded by pointing out her preference for other rumored free agents. She noted that there are many talented wrestlers potentially available and welcomed anyone who is among the best in the world to join AEW.

“I would choose other rumored girls that I’ve heard that might be on the free agent list. So I think there’s a lot, by the way, out there. So I would say the more, the merrier, as long as you’re good. As long as you’re one of the best wrestlers in the world. Come over here because this is where the best wrestle.

The CEO of AEW then hinted at a particular female wrestler she admires, without revealing any names, to avoid alerting the competition. Mercedes expressed her desire for this wrestler and her husband to join AEW, suggesting that fans might uncover the identity of this mystery talent through social media platforms like Twitter or Instagram.

I have heard little rumors of a certain girl that I really, really love. I don’t want to name names because if I say their name, then you know the other competition might just want to get them that much quicker. So, if we have a chance to get her, I would absolutely love her and her husband to be here. But that’s just that… Just go on X, Twitter, or Instagram. I’m sure the fans will figure it out.”

In the meantime, Mercedes Mone and Stephanie Vaquer are set to go head-to-head in a highly anticipated “Title for Title” match at Forbidden Door as Mone and Vaquer will put their respective TBS Title and NJPW Strong Title on the line, so we’ll have to see who will pick up the win. Perhaps there is a chance this particular free agent might just debut at Forbidden Door as well.
