Dijak had a solid run in NXT last year, but his transition to the main roster this year ended up being his downfall. Throughout his career, he had numerous moments, both good and bad but it appears that he believed Vince McMahon intentionally wanted him to fail in the company.
On November 1, 2021, Damian Priest faced off against T-BAR persona in a No Disqualification match on RAW, lasting approximately 13 minutes. During the match, a significant moment occurred where T-BAR bounced Damian Priest’s head off the ring apron, though this spot happened during a commercial break and was not televised.
Dijak appeared on Twitch with Mace and Mansoor, where he expressed frustration with Vince McMahon’s feedback about the aforementioned match. Dijak noted that McMahon focused on a minor untelevised segment where Dijak did not grab someone aggressively enough during a break. This incident left Dijak believing McMahon intentionally wanted him to fail in the company.
“All of this [putting body through punishment] just to impress Vince, and I go to the back and he’s fixated on the fact that I didn’t grab someone aggressively enough in a break that nobody on television saw,” Dijak stated. “That was the moment where in my head I just went, ‘Oh, they’re looking for a reason to not like me.’ Because it’s pro wrestling, right? It’s fake fighting. You can make up any s**t you want. I was like, ‘Oh, the office wants me to fail. They’re actively looking for reasons to not use me.'”
Dijak has confirmed that June 28th will be his final day under contract with WWE and he will be a free agent moving forward. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Dijak, but it’s clear he doesn’t have many fond memories of working under Vince McMahon.
