TNA Wrestling and WWE have collaborated in the past and they have started it again since last month with Jordynne Grace’s appearance on NXT television and Tatum Paxley’s appearance at Against All Odds. In light of their partnership, Tony Khan has revealed if he feels WWE and TNA’s partnership was inspired by Forbidden Door.

Back in late 2020 and early 2021, AEW and TNA Wrestling formed a partnership. This collaboration saw Kenny Omega making appearances on Impact Wrestling television, while stars such as The Good Brothers appeared on AEW television as well. However, they eventually ended their partnership a couple of years ago.

Since 2022, AEW has formed a partnership with NJPW and given birth to the Forbidden Door pay-per-view and it remains as strong as ever. While speaking during the Forbidden Door media call, Tony Khan was asked if he feels that NXT and TNA Wrestling working together was inspired by the Forbidden Door concept. Khan responded positively, stating that he is pleased to see companies collaborating and enjoys the competition it brings.

WWE plans to increase talent exchanges between both companies, but AEW is currently focused on their own partnership with NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM, so professional wrestling is certainly in a very interesting period at the moment. Regardless, we’ll have to see how both companies will continue their respective partnerships.
