After a seven-year hiatus, Jeff Hardy made his highly anticipated return to TNA Wrestling at Against Odds event. His AEW contract expired at midnight on the day of his TNA return, but plans for his comeback had already been set in motion earlier that week.
Moreover, Jeff Hardy’s return came shortly after his brother, “Broken” Matt Hardy, made his shocking appearance in TNA at the Rebellion pay-per-view event. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, both Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy are currently working in TNA Wrestling as free agents without formal contracts.
Many within TNA expected The Charismatic Enigma to join, but the confirmation only came shortly before the event. Matt Hardy’s agreement with TNA was initially intended to be short-term, but additional dates and plans have since been discussed. There have also been creative pitches for Matt’s wife, Reby Hardy, to participate in a match, although this has not been confirmed.
There have been no recent extended negotiations between the Hardys and AEW, but sources suggest that the possibility of future collaboration remains open. Sources within TNA expressed their satisfaction with the post-show speech delivered by The Hardys, Nic Nemeth, and Joe Hendry, highlighting the positive reception of their return.
With Hardys receiving positive feedback upon their return but still working without a formal agreement, we will have to wait and see if TNA extends a lucrative offer to keep them in the promotion longer.
