AEW President Tony Khan oversees all aspects of the company, including the women’s division, which has faced a lot of criticism over the years. With that said, things are better now and Khan has now claimed that AEW has the best women’s wrestling in the world.

Since its inception, the AEW Women’s Division has been a topic of scrutiny among fans, who have raised concerns about its initial lack of attention and focus compared to other aspects of the promotion. Some critics have suggested that Tony Khan, as AEW’s head, may not have prioritized the division as much as other areas.

However, over the past year, AEW’s Women’s Division has undergone significant growth. The promotion has actively expanded its roster by signing more talent, which has allowed for a broader and more competitive women’s wrestling scene within AEW.

Tony Khan recently appeared on WGN Radio and lauded the performances of Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, and other wrestlers in the AEW women’s division, declaring it the strongest it has ever been and also stating that he believes AEW has the best women’s wrestling in the world right now.

“I think right now across the board everyone thinks this is by far the best wrestling in the history of AEW in the women’s division and I think we have the best women’s wrestling in the world right now.

There’s more competition and more talent in the AEW women’s division than there’s ever been, and more big matches. I think by far 2024 has been the best year of the AEW women’s division and I give so much of the credit to ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm the World Champion and Mercedes Mone the TBS Champion and a lot of other great wrestlers like Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale.”

Tony Khan also previously addressed introducing AEW Women’s tag team titles. Regardless, there is no doubt that AEW’s women’s division is much better than before but it being the best in the world right now is certainly subjective.
