Former WWE Diva Tammy Lynn Sytch, known as Sunny to WWE fans for years, is now serving time in prison due to her legal troubles and terrible decisions. Now, we have an update on a case related to the tragedy she caused.

One of the lawsuits stemming from Sytch’s fatal DUI accident has been settled. Jane Olivova, a passenger in another car involved in the April 2022 accident, was set to go to trial in a lawsuit against Geico.

PW Insider reports that Olivova filed notice on June 19th indicating that the two sides had settled and requested voluntary dismissal. The case is not officially closed but awaits the judge’s approval.

Olivova originally filed suit against Sytch, her then-fiancé James Pente, and Geico. She amended the lawsuit in July 2023 to list only Geico as the defendant, seeking over $50,000 in damages. The suit was set for trial on July 8th before the Circuit Court of Volusia County, Florida.

On March 25, 2022, Sytch was involved in a fatal car crash in Volusia County, Florida, killing a 75-year-old man. According to a police report, Sytch was driving a 2012 Mercedes-Benz when she crashed into the rear of a 2013 Kia Sorento that had stopped at a stoplight. Witnesses reported that Sytch was driving at a high speed.

Then in May 2022, Sytch was arrested on DUI and manslaughter-related charges after toxicology reports showed her blood alcohol content was about 3.5 times the legal limit. Initially released on $227,500 bond, a judge later revoked her bond, deeming her a danger to the community. On August 16, 2023, Sytch pleaded no contest to the charges, and she was sentenced to seventeen and a half years in prison and eight years probation on November 27, 2023, with credit for her 566 days already spent in jail. Her tentative release date is December 2039.

Sytch still faces a wrongful death lawsuit from the family of Julian Lasseter, who was killed in the accident. That trial is set to begin on October 2nd. Ringside News will provide more coverage of that case as information becomes available.
