Possible Spoiler on AEW’s Plan for Wild Card Spot in Owen Hart Tournament

AEW is planning surprises for their fans each week, and it appears something intriguing is in the works. The Elite are making plans that could include the return of a fan favorite.

The Young Bucks announced they are adding a Wild Card to the Owen Hart tournament during the June 26 episode of AEW Dynamite and bringing the world title back to the Elite. This could signal the return of a former AEW World Champion.

The announcement led many to suspect Adam “Hangman” Page, who has been absent since AEW Revolution.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that “Page has been out of action for contractually obligated personal reasons” and hasn’t been injured. The specific reasons for Page’s absence were not disclosed. It was noted that “AEW was always aware he’d be making his return by late June or early July.”

Creative plans can always change, so it’s not certain that Page will return as the Wild Card. However, he was discussed for the tournament and planned for an early July return well in advance.
