It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means! The AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door go-home episode of Dynamite will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the June 26, 2024 episode.
AEW Dynamite will start this week at 8:00 PM EST as always, match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below. You can check out the lineup below.
The show opens up with MJF making his way down to the ring as we are welcomed by Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz. Justin Roberts then introduced MJF, who had a mic in his hand.
MJF looks to speak, but before he can, Daniel Garcia’s music hits and Garcia makes his way down to the ring. MJF says he is glad Buffalo loves Garcia, but warns him to tread lightly. Garcia then thanks MJF for saving him from a post-match beatdown last week and says since AEW is in Buffalo, everything is his business. Garcia then says he assumes MJF is here to say something bad about Buffalo, him and his family in the crowd, but before MJF does, he wants to do something no one in the back has done and that is to say nice things about MJF. Garcia then recalls watching MJF’s reign as AEW World Champion when he was in the back not doing very much and recalls MJF giving some advice to him that inspired him.
Garcia then says MJF saw him as a pillar of AEW and got him a shot at his then-title. Garcia then says challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship was one of the most embarrassing moments of his life, but it led him to the run of a lifetime and gave him immense motivation. Garcia then says he’s now someone fans can believe in, then asks why settle for being a pillar when he can be a backbone instead. Garcia then thanks MJF for everything he did for him and warns him to be careful about what he says next unless he wants Buffalo to come after him. MJF then says he’s in the ring for two reasons, the first is to promote Forbidden Door and an upcoming episode of AEW Collision and call Garcia out to ask him a question. MJF then says before he asks Garcia what he wants to ask him, he wants to thank him. MJF and Garcia then shake hands before MJF says no one ever talks about the nice things he does behind the scenes. MJF then says everyone in the back is jealous of him and wants his spot, but Garcia is one step closer to actually taking his spot. MJF then tells Garcia he earned his AEW World Championship Match against him, then says Garcia reminds him of himself. MJF then says while he retained his title over Garcia and beat him down bad, Garcia has only gotten better since then. MJF then says Garcia is the grind, then presents him with the opportunity to face him at AEW All In.
Before Garcia can answer, Will Ospreay’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Ospreay voices his appreciation for Garcia and says he loves the way Garcia has been working his way up the ranks. Ospreay then grants Garcia a shot at the AEW International Championship next week, then the AEW World Championship next. Garcia then accepts Ospreay’s challenge and the two shake hands. Ospreay then stares MJF down in the corner and leaves the ring. Garcia then looks to answer MJF’s challenge, but MJF tells him he needs to focus on his match next week before he answers his challenge. MJF then storms to the back.
AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana were then shown watching on a monitor backstage. Swerve says Ospreay was putting the cart before the horse by offering Garcia an AEW World Championship Match. Swerve then says Ospreay seems to have a focus problem. After Swerve leaves, Nana looks into the camera and asks, “Whose house?”
