Goldberg is certainly a legend in the pro wrestling business, especially after making a name for himself during WCW and eventually bursting onto the scene in WWE. He is a WWE Hall of Famer but it appears Goldberg admitted he feels guilty over getting the induction, feeling he was undeserving of it.
Goldberg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 and there were quite a few fans who were happy about the result. However, there are also many who feel he really didn’t do anything to deserve such an accolade.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Goldberg talked about his experience being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and the range of emotions that came with the induction.
Goldberg explained that there is a significant responsibility on a night like that. He admitted that he didn’t have as much fun as he should have because he never really lived in the moment.
“There’s so much of a responsibility on a night like that,” said Goldberg. “I didn’t have as much fun as I should’ve had, because I never really live in the moment.”
While grateful and enthusiastic about the honor, Goldberg described the induction as “overwhelming” and “underserved,” acknowledging that unlike many wrestlers who dedicated their lives to the craft, he hadn’t pursued wrestling his entire life and he feels guilty about the induction.
“For so many people who have dedicated their lives to the craft, I always will forever feel guilty that I get any accolade,” he said.
Goldberg also admitted he has no idea who his retirement opponent should be. Regardless, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for Goldberg, as his status as a WWE Hall of Famer is unlikely to ever change.
