WWE NXT is set to present its next special event, NXT Heatwave, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as part of the WWE Money in the Bank PLE weekend.

At the start of tonight’s June 25 edition of WWE NXT, Ethan Page, who defeated the champion last week, and Shawn Spears laid their claims to an NXT title match despite Je’Von Evans winning the 25-man battle royal to earn the opportunity against his friend, Trick Willaims.

In the main event of the show, Trick Williams competed against Shawn Spears in a one-on-one bout, with Ethan Page watching the action from the commentary desk. However, chaos erupted in the closing moments, as Oro Mensah once again attacked Page and Brooks Jensen also trespassed the security again this week to make his presence felt.

Amidst the chaos, Trick Williams was hit by the announcer’s desk’s surface, giving Shawn Spears the opening to hit his finisher and secure a win over the NXT Champion. Watching the events go down, NXT General Manager Ava made a huge change to the title match at Heatwave. The match will now be contested as a Fatal 4-Way bout where Trick Williams will defend his title against Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears and Ethan Page.
