The Rated-R Superstar Adam Copeland has become a prominent fixture in AEW since joining the company last year. Despite a recent injury, Copeland is on a determined journey to return to in-ring action.
Copeland defended his AEW TNT Title against Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event. During the match, the WWE Hall of Famer performed an elbow drop from the top of the cage, landing awkwardly on his legs as he crashed down onto Black, who was positioned on a table and fractured his tibia in the process.
Despite initial complications, his surgery was successful and Copeland himself stated that his doctor believed his bones were healthy following the successful surgery. In a new update shared by Adam on his Instagram, he revealed that his splint was finally off with more scars on his leg and he had 5 more screws and a plate inserted.
“The splint is off! More scars! 5 more screws and another plate. I’m becoming Robocop.”
Despite the challenges ahead, the former TNT Champion remains optimistic about his recovery and eventual return to the ring. Fans will have to wait and see when he recovers and returns to AEW in the future.
